Before you start an seo strategy there are some basic skill and information that will make it easier for you to learn.

It is not necessary but having web design and development skills would be a big plus - or at least the ability to read and change HTML code. If you can't break into your website and make some minor changes to tags and content - then you are going to need some help in the implementing your SEO strategy into your website.

If you are just thinking about building a website - and want to design your site around SEO (GOOD FOR YOU!) then I will eventually include a really easy simple to do web site using a fairly easy development program - dreamweaver. Well check back on that because it could be awhile.
